School Supplies and Workspace Needs

Yay! You found my website!

Please don't stress over getting school supplies the first week of school! I will provide each student with everything they need in class. Below you will find information on what I am providing to start the school year. If you would like to provide items for the class that will be listed below also. Thank you in advance for your support!

Mrs. Rucker will provide: 

  • Homework folder which will include a pencil pouch with a pencil, eraser, dry-erase pen, pencil sharpener, and eraser. 
  • Please see below regarding 3-Ring Binders

Please send students to SCHOOL with: 

*Since I know many students like to have 3-ring binders, parents can choose to purchase these. However, due to desk space they will be stored in backpacks and only used for storing and transporting papers. The red homework folder I provide will be what we use for daily homework. Please feel free to email mrucker@murrieta.k12.ca.us if you have any questions. 

  • backpack
  • extra pencils/erasers
  • extra fine tip dry erase pens (thin ones)
  • scissors (not mandatory)
  • 2 spiral notebooks (will be left at school)
  • ruler (protractor if possible)
  • waterbottle (with screw top-no straw cups to protect technology)
  • mini hand sanitizers (not mandatory)
  • small snack for recess break (very important since 5th-grade recess/snack are later in the day-sometimes a bite of something helps😊)

Students HOME Workspace Needs:

  • A comfortable chair with a desk/table to work
  • A separate workspace away from distractions of tv, siblings, kitchen
  • A place to read comfortably-as this will be a big part of homework
  • Enough lighting
  • Ventilation (open window or fan)

  IF YOU ARE ABLE, I'D LOVE FOR STUDENTS TO HAVE:      

  • Access to the device to do online work, practice, research, or projects

Individual student needs/wishes for HOME if you can:

These items are for home:

  • Pencils (or mechanical pencils with lots lead)-more is always better 
  • Pencil top erasers 
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Spiral notebooks
  • Dry Erase whiteboard
  • 4+ skinny dry erase pens and eraser 
  • Noise-reducing headphones 
  • Pencil cup or box to store items 
  • Box of markers and or crayons         
  • Ruler with metric and standard
  • Scissors
  • Glue/glue sticks
